The plans
Prices are shown as a guide. The current price and what your plan includes are always confirmed
in Settings → Plan and billing before you commit to a change.
Add-ons
These guides document Smart Invoice and Inventory in full because the features themselves are
built. What is still to come is their packaging as separately priced add-ons. Check
Settings → Plan and billing for what is currently available on your plan — that page is
always the authority on what you can use today.
Choosing a plan
Start
Start
A sole trader or a very small business with straightforward obligations and one person doing
everything.Three obligations covers a typical small company: PAYE, one other ZRA tax type, and a PACRA
annual return. Two service requests a month is enough for occasional one-off work.Outgrow it when you need a second user, or NHIMA.
Plus
Plus
A small business with employees. Adds NHIMA, which you need the moment you employ anyone, and
a second user so the bookkeeper is not sharing the owner’s login.Payroll becomes available as an add-on at this tier.
Pro
Pro
A growing business with a real team. Five users lets you separate payroll from finance, seven
obligations covers a fuller compliance load, and you gain WCF and local council coverage.Right for anyone with more than a handful of staff.
Enterprise
Enterprise
Larger businesses, groups, and consultants managing many client organisations. Everything
unlimited, with terms agreed individually.
What counts against your limits
When you reach a limit
Bumara tells you before you are blocked.
If a limit is blocking compliance work, you receive a message about it. Do not simply wait — a
blocked filing still has its deadline. See
Messages and timeline.
Upgrading
1
Open Settings, then Plan and billing
Only Owners can change the plan.
2
Choose your new plan
The difference in what you get is shown before you commit.
3
Confirm
The new limits apply immediately. Billing is adjusted from the change date.
4
Use what you have gained
Connect the additional regulators, invite the additional users.
Downgrading
1
Bring yourself within the lower limits first
Remove users, pause obligations, reduce storage, disconnect regulators.
2
Change the plan
Settings → Plan and billing.
3
Check nothing has been lost
Particularly regulator connections. Disconnecting a regulator in Bumara does not deregister
you with that regulator — your obligations to them continue.
Adding payroll
Payroll is charged per employee, on Plus and Pro.1
Open Settings, then Plan and billing
Choose Add payroll.
2
Confirm your employee count
This is what you are billed on. It updates as your headcount changes.
3
Set payroll up
See Setting up payroll.
Billing
Your subscription charges are separate from regulator fees. Regulator and handling fees for
filings and services are billed per item — see Paying fees.
If a payment fails
1
You are notified immediately
By email and in the app.
2
Update your payment method
Settings → Plan and billing.
3
Retry the payment
From the same page.
4
Act promptly
A prolonged failed payment can restrict your account. Compliance deadlines do not pause while
your billing is unresolved.
Overages
Some items are included up to a limit and charged beyond it. Anything charged as an overage is labelled as such before you commit to it — you are never billed for something you were not shown the price of.Related: Team and roles for user limits, and
Document vault for storage.
